1.Operations :

Operations are the activities in organizations. These operations are important for execution of performance. Operations are of various types. We can categorize the operations department wise.

We can correlate the operations word with the processes .Operations are necessary in each & every department.

2) System: Systems are important for execution of operations successfully.

System consists of Input , Medium , Output

Input : Resources Like Man , Machines , Materials etc

Medium : The medium that transformers resources into finished goods

Output : Tangible goods or services that are produced after transformation process.

3) Output : In operations system the produced things are Goods or services. Goods are tangible where Services are Intangible. Resources are used through transformation process. These produced outputs are as per the customers requirement.  

4) Service Science : Services are types of output. These are intangible. Services can not be stored .They are the consumed at place of creation. In service operations the Man power is important that plays a critical role

5) Customers : In operations , before production of the goods or services its better to understand the customers requirements , needs .After correct analysis we can use the right resources for transformation.

6) Technology : Technology plays a important role in operations management. All the departments of operations uses Technology .Technology helps to utilize the resources in optimum way. Technology like ERP , Design , CAD , CAM , CIM helps to execute the operations smoothly.

7) Co-ordination : Coordination among the resources i.e Man , Machines , Materials are very critical .The actual failure takes place here. So operations manager needs take strong & smart management for coordination.

8) Planning and Control : Planning & control of the all resources. All the materials , man , machines all must be available on right time.

9) Integration: Integration of the all activities in organization is very important for productivity improvement.

10) Risk: Divide the activities as per the low risk, moderate risk , high risk etc
