The employer said that he got a call from his wife around noon on the day of the incident, informing him that the maid had absconded. "My wife told me that the maid's bedroom was locked and some stuff were missing from the house," he added. The employer's son, a 24-year-old student, said that the maid stole her passport, her medical test paper, the recruitment office documents, her visa and ID papers, a mobile phone and Dh500 in cash. "I was keeping the papers in an envelope in a drawer inside my room," the son told the prosecutor.
