Explanation / Answer

At the very out set one can say that the contributions made by President Franklin Roosevelt and the National Industrial Recovery Act remained unparallel with respect to the economic development in the United States of America. At the same time, it is difficult for me to accept that had it not been the vision, mission and hard work of the President Franklin Roosevelt and or the promulation of the National Industrial Recovery Act, that economic recovery and or economic development may not have had happened. In United States of America, with the kind of freedom, constitutional rights, knowledge and skills, availability of resources, aspirations and hard work of the people, may have resulted in the similiar types of economic developments with some what similiar or different modus operandi by the leaders sitting at the helm of the affairs. Never the less timely actions taken by the then President Franklin Roosevelt , in particularly the passing of the National Industrial Recovery Act (NIRA) in 1933 by the United States Congress. At that point of time the economy was suffering from the ill effects of severe deflation and special extra efforts were needed to have industrial recovery. Under the NIRA, the President Franklin Roosevelt got the authority to regulate the industry in an attempt to raise prices after deadly severe deflation. Even today, after a gap of more than 8 decades, NIRA is considered as the most important and far-reaching ever enacted by the American Congress.

Keeping in view the industrial and overall economic conditions prevailing during 1930s, National Industrial Recovery Act was designed as a reformatory measures to promote recovery, encourage collectivebargaining for unions, set up maximum work hours and minimum wages, and forbid child labor in industry. It also provided provisions for designing codes by a group and or associations that would not impose inequitable restrictions on one company over another. Not to create and or promote monopolies and or to oppress or eliminate small enterprises. Reforms were focused not only in the interests of the employees but also President Franklin Roosevelt showed the ways to harmonize the so called conflicting interests. The Brain Trust, group of academics helped in carving out various policies to be inagurated by the President, having the not only executive power but also the necessary authority to make laws.

BUS 3900 is about Business - Intership, is basically designed to provide practical, hands-on business environment conditions to think about real life solutions to the problems, hardships and or to make use of available strengths and opportunities. This helps the students to get ready and well prepared for the transformation from the status of student as a learner to the status of an employee to apply learnings, to do/perform some work and to have or share the responsibility about the performance.

It is very important to understands the implications of being an employee and or being an employer and therefore the law governing the employment is essential to be understood in its true spirits and legal bindings. In todays competitive world, it is not so easy to have the proper combinations of employees and employers. Choices, alternatives and options have increased mani-folds with the technological developments and globalization along with the changing dynamics of social, economic and political environment world over. Even the so called best employers are struggling with the retention rates of employees, as the ambitions, expectations and aspirations on both the sides of employment (employees and employers) are on the increase. Apart from the traditional criteria of cost and price and consistency or continuity the third dimension of speed factor with which inputs needs to be transformed into outputs, is impacting the employment also.
