PROBLEM STATEMENT

The diesel engine is a thermal internal combustion alternative system that is produced by the self-ignition of fuel, diesel, due to high temperatures resulting from compression of air within the cylinder, according to the principle of the diesel cycle. The first Detroit Diesel engines were controlled mechanically by a system of direct fuel injection. Ignorance in this process calibration brought pollutants gases to the environment and loss of engine power, and in severe cases, total and irreparable damage plus injuries to the staff responsible for the operation. Therefore they emerged injection engines with EUI (Electronic Unit Injection) that comply with the laws on controlled toxic gases to the environment in a much higher level than mechanical system emissions. To do this, Detroit Diesel created a system called D.D.E.C (Detroit Diesel Electronic Control) unit that has information parameters within the engine normal service and has several families of electronic generations which are D.D.E.C. I, II, III, IV, V and VI as the most recent version.
