Primary Care Medicine Primary care providers deliver basic medical care for Americans. Yet, Bodenheimer and Grumbach (2009) report that "the proportion of internal medicine residents entering primary care medicine rather than subspecialty or hospital careers plummeted from 54% in 1998 to 20% in 2005" (p. 201).

2. Research the current status of primary care in the U.S. and develop policy initiatives and provider incentives to increase the number of residents entering primary care instead of a subspecialty or a hospital career.

Consider how the Hill-Burton Act; the EMTALA; and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, or the ACA, helped transform primary care medicine in this country.

Answer-1 There is an "Closing the Health Care disparity act" that is made to bridge the gap in the health care policies and majorly focusing on the quality delivery in the health care. The reason is that the disparity in the in US health is majorly a subset of quality issues and thus this menace should be eliminated with this act.

Answer-2 The health care quality in US is the major issue. The reason is even if the health care system in US is world's most expensive the US health care effectiveness is nothing to brag about. US has the highest number of deaths related to per 100000 population as the research says. As compared to another countries the rate is almost twice, but the psending is also most extreme. The reason for this is less emphasis on primary health care in US. The formidable and effective primary health care would make the cost of the health care come down to reasonable levels as well as the healthcare system would have become strong.

This can be done with the help of puttign the emphasis on health care at the primary level and making it more affordable to the public and also making it penetrate to the deepest level of the society. Patient protection and affordable act is one of the way to put this inot action and making primary health care more effective.
