Business Ownerships

Type of Business ownerships are

I will choose one type of Ownership for a detailed discussion.

Franchising

It is a form of business ownership that is very commonly used in current scenario where owners of business ( Franchisor) sell all the rights that includes business logo, name and business model to a third party ( franchisee) .Franchisee will operate the business model as per the standarnds and business norms/agreements proposed by the franchisor. To start or invest for a franchising business, the franchise have to pay an initial fee to the franchisor for the rights to business, equipments and training. After starting the business franchisee have to generally pay to the franshior on quarterly or yearly basis and the amount is clled franchisor fee.Reputable franchisor conduct markt surveys or research before giving the ownership right to the franchisor

Franchisee has the benfit to starts a business with an existing brand , so that he dont have to spend much for promotional activities. Franchisor at the same time can expand his business through these ownsership transfer under proper norms and conditions. The franchisee will not have as much control over the franchisee business as he would not have over his own business model. Minimum staff strenght, Space required and quality standards, price of the product everything has to be stricltly followed under the norms generated by the franchisee.

Eg: KFC, McDonalds. Most of their outlets across the global are run via franchisee model.

It helps in expanding business and reaching brand across the global. Both parties are mutually benefited and its very transparent and safe type of businss ownership.Franchisee agreement will be renewed on regular basis ( say 1 year or 5 yr contract). If there is any breach of contract franchisor has the right to withdraw the franchisee business from franchisor.
