Decision Making Process involves serues of steps , that has to be taken with atmost care and attention
The current situation is the present location of a retail store couldnt meet the expectation interms of revenue and customer reach. So taking a decision to open a new store by closing the exsiting one.
Anyhow the companys; main objective is to drive profit out of the business so strategically it is better to repositioned the exsiting retail outlet to the new location where more cusomter base is there and approachability is also comparitively better.So convicing the suppliers t have long inner haul movements (Inbound trnsportation) on new rate slabs which is beneficial both to organisation and suppliers. Genrallry full truck loads can optimise the transporation constraints. Loyal customers might lose opportunity to come ans shop from the retail outlet, as it too far from the current location. So door delivery for those customers on a minimum order amount ( amount has to be finalised later). Such customer retention thought has to be built to retain the premium customers.
Transportation facilities to staffs who are staying away from new location and hired some new staffs from the locality of new shop to balance the staff ratio .
Alternatives are opening a new shop to start a fres business approach or otherwise on the existing facilties add some value added service like door delivery, online shopping and advanced retail concepts to enance the customer base.
Evaluating the alternatives on quality and quantity aspects is very crucial. Quality of decision making skills is determined by evaluation stage. and review stage. Pilot study, market research and real time survesy from customers and stakeholders in the form discussions also can create a good support for decision making ideas.
