Some people think that a product should be considered “new” only if it is completely new to the market and has never existed before. Describe or give examples of other types of new products. In other words, are "all new" products that are really more a tweak of an existing product is still considered new? What are the advantages and disadvantages for companies that are the first to introduce products that create new markets? Explain ways that companies generate new product ideas from the customer. How can firms assess the value of the ideas that customers generate? How could a marketer of a new product or service that is targeted at the college student market use concept testing?

Explanation / Answer

of course people will be felt like this, but it does not mean that they are going to be rock in the market if they were introduced a complete new product. change is inevitable but not always gives only positive output only. for this discussion i will take an exaple of KENT AIRFRESHER and Purifier, recetly Kent was launched air refresher to a room (like water purifier). they announced that what ever we breathing now it is fully polluted air only, if we fix the purifier in our room we only provide pure air without any pollution.

it is a good and new product, but utterflaph in the market, there are no sales for the product from the market. reasons will be many, but with this we can say that if we produce a new product we may get huge sales.

some of the companies will identify what a customer is looking for, and based on his requirements they will design a core product and make it customized while selling to the customers. customers needs are realistic, they only looks for the products which satisfy their needs. so, if we know what exactly a customer is looking for and to fulfill it if we produce a product, that is enough to capture the market.

but here the problem is,, each customer is looking for uniqueness in the product, no two customers thinks in the same way, expects same output or satisfy in the same way. fulfilling majority of the customers is our taskl.

if a new product produced with only target of college going student as a customer, then they need to be analyse what the college going student is looking for? first is the product is a shirt? bike? laptop? pen or book or what? based on the product we need to go further.
