strategic goals are those which a firm plans to achieve in long run, where it started today and upto some time period where it wants to be reach or go? for this it needs to focus on what kind of resources it requires, from where all these has to be pool, how can they maintain and manage and how the work or project can execute.

for this discussion i choose ITC, indias top conglomerate firm;

even though they are enjoying the brand name in the market, it has many issues to be solved. they are:

apart from tobacco business majority of its segments running with losses only. so, they need to be focus on it.

many of its cosmotics and beauty products are rejecting by people

noodles business is strugling to sustain in the market.

its study products like classmate notebooks and pens are not able to reach ground level people at lower cost.

so, this firm has to resolve all these issues to become number one player in this market, but not an easy task. the major problem is customer expectations, where they always looking more and more. and they think what next and what next. the next problem is with competitors, there are higher number of competitors in the market. by facing all of them and by introducing many innovative products and services, it can succeed in the market.

customer expectations and competitors are its threats and many of the brands were rejected from the market, as it can say as their weakness. strong brand name is their strength and focusing on all other segments is called opportunities.
