During the time period of 1991-2001, CEO compensation increased by 340% while the average worker's compensation only increased by 36%. This trend has continued. Is the large differential in the increase justified? Please explain your position and provide supporting examples. What are the arguments for and against high CEO compensation? Please explain.

Explanation / Answer

The large differential in increase is justified as CEO sits at the top level in hierrachy and hence has more power and more responsibilities. The onus of the company's performance lies on CEO and therefore it is justied that he gets bigger chuck that others. Comapared to CEO, worker's compensation is not hiked to such extent as there are higher number of employees that CEO. 2nd employees doe not work on every field. They have specified role to perform and its not very diversed.
