MESSAGE

While you were interviewing this morning, I received a very interesting call. About 10:30, a woman called and would not give her name. She said you betterkeep an eye on John Ormon, principal at Lakeview. She went on to say that last night while her husband went into GetNGo she waited in the car. While sitting there, Mr. Ormon pulled up in his car across the street. He got out and approached two men who were standing next to an abandoned gas station. With the streetlights on, she could clearly see Mr. Ormon give one of the men something and in return, the man gave Mr. Ormon something. She went on to say that this corner (Fitzgerald and Henderson) is notorious for drug trafficking and she knows Mr. Ormon is an addict and should not be around children.

Suggested Questions/Activities:

1. How does your office treat anonymous information? 2. Would this complaint be sufficient to constitute "reasonable suspicion" for drug testing? 3. What action will you take?

Explanation / Answer

1. Normally my office ignores anonymous information. However the anonymous information may be considered by the vigilence department for further considerations in the lights of other complaints and may be investigated in ternally. At times depending on the nature and likely outcomes in terms of threat, safety and security the information may be forwarded to outside agencies like police.

2. Considering the social stigma and ill effects of drug abuse and keeping in view the public policy for drug trafficking, I do not want to ignore this call and may be consider as reasonable suspicion for drug testing.

3. My action is to report the matter to appropriate authority for further action/investigation as the authority deem fit.
