You are a manager in a large global manufacturing and services organization. You are trying to explain to your grandfather how different your job is from his before he retired 10 years ago. You both know how society has changed, and you want to explain how that has changed management. Select 2 of the 5 topics listed below, and discuss how management has changed with respect to both of the topics you selected. Use real world examples to address 2 of the following areas: The two topics that I choose was Corporate responsibility and ethics, and Society and trends (such as diversity)

Explanation / Answer

THE SOLUTION OF ABOVE QUESTION NEED'S EXPERIENCE .SO I WILL GIVE YOU THE ANSWER ACCORDINGLY

It includes:
-the rise in micro-businesses: solopreneurs who can service all kinds of corporate and individual needs very effectively due to technology and inexpensive on-line support (Dropbox, Vistaprint, Lulu, PayPal and similar services have revolutionized the scope/professionalism available to solos)
-the degree to which technology literacy is mandatory by everyone
-the speed at which things change and the amount of time a business owner must invest in staying abreast of new technologies. I'm very adept in this area and yet I regularly feel my head spinning at all the new stuff I have to learn about, master and then adapt/expand my business to accommodate (and take advantage of the opportunities the new technology invites)
-the degree to which we truly now live in McLuhan's 'global village'. Time, cost & physical distance are no longer barriers to even the tiniest of enterprises exploiting the global marketplace
-the proportion of women operating small businesses where their priorities take precedence over the traditional values demanded within corporations
In terms of start-ups, I am currently working with a couple of women who are reminding me that the major differences in today's world compared to when I launched 15 years ago relate to mastery of technology.
What remains the same is the excitement at seeing a highly personal vision come to fruition, all the while accompanied by a serious questioning of their abilities, given the breadth of skills they must bring to bear

Ten years ago, the public lacked two things that exist today: (1) Widespread access to technology and advanced research skills (2) the "I'm paranoid about getting screwed" mentality.

A combination of The Great Recession, bogus businesses being exposed and the new(-er, since 2000 anyways) utilization of information sharing/social networking has resulted in the necessity of TRANSPARENCY. Your prospective and existing clients want to know your reputation, your clientele, the security associated with your product/service and to be ensured that their investment(s), whatever those may be, will be protected. We're a generation of skeptics now and above all, I think it is essential for businesses to have the ability to assure their target market that a professional relationship will be successful, secure and long-lasting. How often do you purchase from an online retailer without reading user reviews? Would you hire a lawyer, even if they were referred by a friend, without Googling them first? The more you can expose yourself as a business, the more comfortable your customer will be in engaging in a relationship, without having to stress over whether they are taking a risk with you or not and especially these days, it's safe to say that our risk tolerance has steeply declined. Get "naked," get more customers!
Benefits of Ethical Behaviour

The main benefits for a business of behaving ethically are:

1. Avoidance of expensive and embarrassing PR disasters.
2. Better image with consumers and better sales.
3. Better recruitment.
4. Better employee motivation because employees are proud of their jobs.

Effects of Ethical Behaviour

1. Increased costs as businesses try to do what is expected eg not pay bottom wages, or dump pollution cheaply at sea.

2. Conflict between profit and ethical standards.

3. Business practice and organisational culture will have to be changed.

I HOPE THIS HELPS.
