The most important way to build trust according to myself is through practicing an open culture and sharing information with others. Another important enabler is to be fair to everyone and ensure procedural justice is being done while giving awards or punishing others. The mentioned two actions enable employees to feel involved as part of the organization and thus they feel that their opinion makes a difference which gives rise to a feeling of trust and credibility. Also demonstrating fairness builds confidence and helps in removing doubts in the mind of employees regarding biases or prejudices.
Most of the leaders who have done well and grown show these traits, however many immature leaders and people who don't deserve to lead and are low in self esteem often guard information from others and hence don't inspire confidence or trusts.
