You have recently been hired to lead a team comprised of relatively long term, experienced employees. Their performance has been generally satisfactory, however changes are coming and it will be your job to affect this change. As the “new sheriff” in town, what sources of power and influence are available to you? Which do you feel would be most successful and why? What are the potential consequences of your using the types of power and influence you identified? How do you think you would best be able to resolve any conflicts within the team

Explanation / Answer

As in every leadership position. It falls under our responsibility to be able to allow the changes that need to occur to be communicated effectively to all the members of the team. This is the reason why we have to select the right leadership style, leadership power and execution strategy in order to be bae to realize the best possible outcome for the organization. We can say that out of all the leadership techniques as well as power, legitimate power as well as democratic leadership role with the help of reward power to reinforce positive changes and acceptance.
