Explanation / Answer

Trade name and possible conflicts of new shopping app

Abstract

This is an exercise that is intended to present a creative mobile app idea with an eye-catching name that is also free of trade name conflict. The process of doing these things will be explained in order to give more insight into how it was done.

Trade name and possible conflicts of new shopping app

This is a report that looks to present a new mobile app idea for a shopping app that allows you to find an item you saw in your daily life four purchase through the use of a photo. It also looks into possible trade name conflicts the app may encounter and the process of checking for them.

The app is designed to analyze photos of items in order to get a possible match in an online seller and suggest similar products. We want to present a fun image, and for that, we look for a casual and catchy name. Initially, the prototype name was “Where did you get that?” a commonly used phrase that clearly and cleverly expresses the whole point of the app. While this doesn’t exactly match any existing business in the TESS search, there is a living business called ”Where'd you get that!? Inc.”. New options were needed to avoid possible trade name conflict with this company.

Methodology

There was a process of searching for matching names with similar words, like Where do I get that, Where can I get it, and so on but “Where can I get that?” was finally picked as it doesn’t match any other existing logs in the TESS site, so it should not present any problems when it comes to its trade name, and it is a variation of the phrase mentioned in the first paragraph.

The app should have an easy to use a design that uses online image identification to find the photographed object, and should also include a barcode scanner and a find similar option. Maybe deals could be presented as well as a way to up income and adds are not bad for this either. Ads, however, must be kept on the lighter side to avoid disrupting the easy shopping experience we want to provide.

The name of the app should instantly be connected to what we think when we see something we like somewhere. We wonder where to get it. This association will bring in more traffic to the app when a user chooses a shopping app.

It is insanely convenient to have a way of finding a product, item of clothing or furniture, to give some examples, that you like and having an app that allows you to find the seller easily, as well as similar looking and functioning products is an innovative idea that shoppers have been waiting for a long time.

Results

In conclusion, a name to match the tone and practicality of the app was chosen, and it’s one that will not create brand conflicts or legal problems, which was checked using the TESS search engine. It is also an idea of an app that would be useful to have in a mobile phone in the day today, and it can even help identify items you seen in TV shows, movies or magazines, which you wouldn’t be able to find otherwise.
