Question
To become better group/team members, we often must look at our past and evaluate our strengths and weaknesses. From your own professional perspective:
Identify a time in which you worked with a group (work group, church group, school group, etc.) where the experience was unpleasant. Without naming anyone within the group summarize the group’s mission and then explain “why” you felt the group didn’t live up to its potential. Be specific in identifying issues.
What could you personally have done differently that could have made the group more successful?
Explanation / Answer
When I joined the organization in which I am currently employed 10 years back I was initially deployed to a team of 5 members where there was a scrum master, two technical team leads and two developers including me and another guy. It was just my second project in my career and although I had a good performance in my previous project I was monitored very closely by the team leads in the current project and they even went to the extent of Micromanagement and started monitoring my each and every activities, including the time I took for lunch and breaks. I understood that there is trust issue and therefore I tried to discuss the same with them but the situation did not change at all. I actually got demotivated to an extent and this affected my performance, in such cases when a new member joins the team the management should be cooperative and try to make things simple and easier for the individual instead of making it difficult for him to work and performance as well.
