The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership are:
An example is from my workplace. My Team Manager is a highly motivating manager. She has helped me to feel capable in my feedback sessions. She motivated me to take additional responsibilities like Team Leader for Rewards and Recognition Committee, Special Point of Contact for a company-wide activity, etc. This leadership quality is important because when team members are motivated, they go an extra mile to perform their responsibilities to maximize the performance of the organization.
5.Encourage the heart- In this leadership practice, the leaders recognize the contributions of the team members and they celebrate the values and victories of the members. These leaders set high expectations for others to achieve. Once they are achieved, the team member’s contributions are recognized. For example, my Team Leader whom I met in my initial day of joining the work place, recognized my contributions to my new job. She creatively motivated team members to perform to excellence. This is a very important practice because recognizing a member’s contribution is a form of motivation.
