This sentence means that there is infringement being done when a company sells a knot off good for cheap to a customer which does not know that the good is not the original one and purchases the good thinking that they are getting the real good for a very generous and cheap price. But, in fact, the goods are infringing on both the company that sells the real goods as well as the customer's beliefs.
2. Yes, the entire practice of producing counterfeit goods is unethical in nature no matter what it's implementation is. This is because such goods deceive both the buyer as well as the company that sells the original products and their business and the customer's Goodwill is affected in the process.
3. Selling counterfeit good is extremely prevalent, especially in economies with a large population and a huge difference in the distribution of income. Such goods allow both the company that sells counterfeit goods to make a great profit as well as the customers that get the cheaper goods, providing them with a higher level of satisfaction.
4. No, I would not purchase knockoff goods. There are a number of reasons for that thinking, but the main reasons are that purchasing such goods causes a decrease in the sales of the companies that make the genuine goods as well as it promotes the culture of producing goods that are somebody else's intellectual property/design as well as create unethical practices in the industry.
