Explanation / Answer
Training & Development:
Cross-culture plays an important role for expatriates. This is one of the most important factor to determine the success / failure of the international assignment. Therefore, it is important to impart appropriate cross-cultural training to the expatriates. This will help to increase confidence and efficiency in the foreign country. Where language can be a barrier, it is better to give basic language training to the expatriates as well. Other trainings that can be imparted are cultural awareness, cognitive-behavior modification and interactive training.
Expatriates who are well-versed with their work might fail if they cannot adjust to the culture which will be negative for the organization.
Base for Salaries:
In case of expatriates, the basis for salary offers should include points such as minimizes the financial risk of the expatriate, cost of living, foreign exchange risk, relocation expenses, hardship and danger allowances (wherever applicable), taxation in the countries, etc.
