Question
You are an administrator at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia. You are informed that a new strain of the flu virus is quickly spreading across the country. It is potentially life-threatening for young children and the elderly. The CDC quickly begins producing a vaccine for the new strain but there is not going to be enough vaccine produced to distribute to everyone in need. You are asked to identify how to distribute the vaccine in order to stop the spread of the disease. Who do you believe should receive the vaccine and why? Explain your answer.
Explanation / Answer
Because this virus is spreading across the country we must act immediatley.
Since we already identified that the virus is potentially life-threatening for young children and the elderly we should start administrating the vaccine to them, children should be the focus, then elderly.
People must aovid going to crowded places until further notification, also they will need to use a mask when they are in public to avoid reciving or transmitting the virus, we have enough available masks for every one so there is really not an excuse to not wear them.
The government and the countries that are allies will be working to send us more supplies to produce more vaccine so we can applied it to every citizen in Atlanta.
We also need to work to produce a massive amount of vaccine and share it with all the potential people not only in Atlanta but on the East Coast
We need to use locations where a big amount of people can concentrate so we can provide the vaccine (children and elderly first)
We should start giving the vaccine to hospitals so the docctors can provide this to the children and elderly.
Next, we will need the help of the militaries to create barriers in a stadium or in one of their bases so only children and eldery can receive the vaccine first.
