As Director of Human Resources for Bisney Entertainment, it is your job to make sure that all federal income tax paperwork is correctly completed and filed for all of Bisney’s employees. However, Madeline Leota, a recently hired maketing analyst, has yet to provide you with the paperwork necessary to complete her personnel file. On two separate occasions in the past month, you have asked her to bring a completed I-9 form to your office, yet she has failed to do so. Madeline's direct supervisor is Harper Goff, Bisney's marketing director.

Without a properly completed Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9, an employee's proof of U.S. citizenship can be called into question, and he or she cannot be legally employed in this country. Failure to provide this documentation to the U.S. government can not only result in severe penalties for the employee in question but also for his or her employer.

Draft an email document addressed to Madeline documenting her failure to provide you with the necessary paperwork in detail and stressing the importance of doing so immediately. Then, state your next course of action if she does not remedy the situation in a timely manner. Be sure to consider who might need a carbon/courtesy copy of this email. Dear Ms. Leota

This e-mail is futher to my previous two requests last month for your form I-9. Kindly note you have till date not submitted the form.

I would like to bring it to your attention that form I-9 is an important document which has to be submitted by all employees. Submission of this document is a federal requirement and by not submitting it you are at risk of losing your proof of being a US citizen. Moreover, you will also lose your legal right of gaining full time or part time employement in the USA.

You are requested to once again submit the form I-9 on an immediate basis. Failure to submit the document within this week will force us to take strict action/penalty against you. Failure can also lead to you being fired from the company. In the meantime, please note that your last month's salary is on hold and will be released only once you submit the document.
