Lanza was able to kill 26 people in 5 min- utes because he used the AR-15, a semiautomatic rifle manu- factured by Bushmaster Firearms International. The lawsuit filed by the families stated the AR-15 was designed as a mili- tary weapon for the U.S. Army and was designed for killing people. James Holmes had earlier used the same gun to kill 12 people in a Colorado movie theater; Jacob Roberts had used one to kill two people in a shopping mall in Portland, Oregon; and John Zawahri used one to kill 5 people at Santa Monica College in California. According to the families, Bush- master knew the weapon was designed to kill people, yet the company introduced the rifle into the consumer marketplace anyway. Consequently, they argued, Bushmaster was ulti- mately responsible for the killings and so should be made to pay punitive damages for their deaths.

This is a failure of licensing system which is run by the government not by the organisation who is manufacturing the guns.
No gun manufacturer is morally responsible for any desk caused by the use of gun as the gun are made for security not for offensive purposes. It is the ethical standard of the human who is firing a gun rather than blaming the company for the specific problem.
Each and every product manufacturer manufactures there good for providing better services to the customers as well as to improve the lifestyle. No manufacturer intentionally manufacturers any good to harm the mankind. As there is no bad intention behind manufacturing good, no manufacturers is responsible for the deaths happened with their products as people were not using it correctly but the company was manufacturing it for being used in a correct manner.
