Please help me answer this case study. What law apply to it and and why --- this is from the book business law with UCC APP 14th ed (I cannot find the right subject under business and this is the best option I could find)

Facts:

The Commonwealth of Virginal required all applicant for state troopers to be between 21 and 29 years of age, at least 5 feet, 9 inches tall , and at least 156 pounds. The height and weight requirement eliminated 98 percent of the female applicant. The basic employment requirement also made it mandatory that all applicant, including applicant for civilian dispatcher positions, complete and pass written mental ability test. The test for the dispatcher positions were not valid predictors of job performance. The tests for trooper positions also were shown not to be predictors of job performance. The Unites States brought suit, charging that Virginia engaged in a pattern and practice of disclination against African American applicant for the civilian position ND AGAINT BOTH AFRICAN AMERICAN and women candidates for the trooper positions.

The law that will apply to this case are civil right act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 , the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act . All these laws give authority to EEOC. EEOC stands for Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) which is the federal body setups where one can file complaint and which than investigates into discrimination practice on any ground and also includes sports discrimination related matters.

Thus the US would pursue the case on the merit of the law and on the ground that discrimination which is evident from the fact shall not be allowed in accordance with laws and natural justice.
