Question
Select two print advertisements for products from the same product category, but different brands.
Show these advertisements to three different people, and interview them about the advertisements. Create a list of questions that you are going to ask each person.
Using their responses write a paper discussing the effectiveness of each print advertisement in terms of communications. Did each person get the same message? How did their responses differ and how were their responses similar? In your paper try to use quotes from the interview subjects.
The questions you ask will depend upon the advertisements you select. Some general ideas to consider in terms of questions are:
• How much do they like each ad? Which do they prefer, and why?
• How would they describe the customer of the product?
• What do they think the message is?
• How much do they think the product would cost?
• Would they purchase the product?
• Based upon the advertisement, how do they think the product tastes, smells, feels, sounds (very product specific here)?
In one file, include both the written paper and a list of the questions asked.

One of the interviewee said that " as this advertisement as used bold colour like black and red, it grabbed my eyeballs provoking to read the entire message of the advertisement". The responses were different for different interviewees because they percive the advertisement from their own past experiences. The responses was similar when it came to interpreting the tagline of the product mentioned in the advertisement. The they interpreted the advertisement with better graphics to be more costly than the simple advertisement. They believe that the company that invest more on advertisement are more costly because the cost is ultimately transferred to the customer. according to them they would purchase the product only after hearing good reviews about the product from others.
