Case 4- TBSM Quality Management Plan

Please review the TBSM template and respond to the following:

1- Compare Project Quality Planning as defined in PMBOK with the process described in this template;

--The Quality Management Plan documents the necessary information required to effectively manage project quality from project planning to delivery. It defines a project’s quality policies, procedures, criteria for and areas of application, and roles, responsibilities and authorities.

       a- Map the template elements to the three phases of Project Quality Management in PMBOK (Figure 8-1 ).

       b- Discuss what elements of PMBOK quality management are covered or not covered and if TBSM goes beyond PMBOK. If so in what ways?

       c- Comment on the strengths and weaknesses of the TBSM template for managing quality in a project.

There are three phases for Project quality Planning.

Quality Planning, Quality Assurance, Quality Control

Quality management is all about managing quality in services. For a Project management, it ensures the desired quality of the goal. The project delivery ensures quality management. Quality doesn’t always mean perfection and high quality services, but maintaining consistency in quality for all projects.

Goal: Project Management Plan, Document, Process Assets

Measurements: Data Gathering, Data Analysis, Testing, Meeting, Consensus Planning

Output: What is the level of quality, how the customer can be satisfied with the given quality level, which will lead to project success.

Moving towards Delivering and Prepare the plan that is the Characteristics

If goal for quality not achieved the necessary steps to be taken

Corrective actions should be taken is the quality management

Here the operational techniques should be used in order to ensure the quality standards.

It involves Monitoring Project Results and deliver to check if they are meeting the desired results or not.

Strength in Managing the quality of a project:

Strong Data Analytics Technique is the root to analyze the big data with accuracy.

Accuracy in calculation data models is one of the strength for TBSM

Auditing quality defines the ultimate quality for the project which is being carried out honestly with proofs which always helps.

Weakness:

Here the weakness is Data representation and problem solving tasks. Sometimes the problems are deep and may not make sense in order to achieve the common goal of the projects.

These are the weakness do not cover in the Managing quality part.

We have conducted a testing project to visualize this Project management quality concepts and specially this model.

The timeline for our project was as follow:

Goal Setting: Set specific goal

Measurement: Data Analytics technique selection and run

Result Evaluation: Comparing the results with standards.

As a project manager, one should be diplomat about the template. In some projects it becomes necessity to violate the set timeline in order to maximize the profit.

In one project we have seen one problem which was hindering profit maximization. The problem was the analytical technique was costed more than the desired cost.

At that time the alternative method which was out of scope for the given template, though we have used that and we could succeed in maximizing the profitability of the project.
