Raymond is truly upset. He works for Priscilla's business. Priscilla intentionally keeps her staff at 14 employees so that she will not have to comply with federal equal employment opportunity laws. The problem is that her business has been growing by leaps and bounds. At first it was okay with Raymond, because the extra work was not too much to handle. But as the business has grown more and more, it has really become a problem. All the employees are frazzled from working too hard. They enjoy the better pay and benefits, but they cannot really enjoy them because they are working all the time. Several of the employees have spoken with Priscilla about the increased work load and the need for more employees to help, but Priscilla refuses to budge. She says that this is her business that she built from the ground up and she refuses to have the government tell her who she can and can't hire. She says the government is in her business enough without having EEO laws to deal with too. Discuss the ethical implications of Priscilla's decision, including all the relevant stakeholders, what Priscilla gains by taking her position, what she loses, and what you think she should do.

Priscilla's decision was unethical in many senses. She should think by replacing herself as an employee. Even, the provisions of EEO laws also prohibits employer to exploits and harass the employees with any kind of excessive burden. Some key stakeholders which will be in trouble by Priscilla's decision are employees, clients, government officers ( if , any complaint will be lodge against her ) etc.

Priscilla was gaining cost advantage (salary compensation cost) but she is losing opportunities cost as people will grasp more opportunities as well if they will be given a balanced roles and responsibilities. Even, she is losing to gain her name and brand image as employees will be give negative feedback in the society.

As per my view, she should do manpower planning and appoint more people so that she can gain more business opportunities in the marketplace. Even, govt will appreciate her for this decision to employ more people especially young graduates as trainees.
