Three ways we could buffer this variability are as below

·       Standardize the process of input collection and constant interaction with customers/market for understanding the requirement changes. This is inventory (inventory of ideas) related buffer.

·       Competency of designs for better visualizing the upcoming product changes based on the market information and customer requirements. This is capacity related buffer.

·       Review mechanism before design finalization, so that we can capture any new design inputs before finalization of the process. This is time related buffer.

·       Design Change management process – This process will help for easy capturing of the inputs for the design change and these changes can be incorporate in the design as and when given by the marketing or customers. This is time related buffer.
