Question

In chapters 9 & 10, Kouzes & Posner write about Practice 4: Enable Others to Act.

1) Creating a climate of trust is foundational to fostering collaboration. As a leader who is committed to modeling the way (Practice 1), are you willing and able to be the first to trust? Give an example of what this might look like

2) Strengthening Others is the second part of Practice 4. Think back to a time when you had a great boss, coach, teacher, or other leader in your life; What were their specific actions or behaviors that strengthened or developed those around them? (You might consider how they were able to strengthen, build, or bring out your own confidence and skills)

Explanation / Answer

1) Yes, creating a culture of trust is right fully essential for a culture of collaboration. As per the human psychology a person is most likely to involve with individual who gives an first confidence about their nature & giving the other individual an opportunity to behave accordingly. Here the first individual has put his self confidence at stake by trusting the other person.

e.g . I remember the Internship Students to whom I give an oppurtinity to handle tasks & execute tasks on their own by believing & trusting them.

2) I recollect my Current Boss who has an authoritative designation in Global Market Leader Business always gives me critical/complicated tasks & projects for increasing the profitability and effectiveness of our organisation.

In this scenario i can clearly witness my boss had very emphatic & confident behaviour towards me & bringing out the best version of me.
