Question
Gestalt is the German word for whole or form. Gestalt psychologists believe that the whole is larger than the sum of its parts. They reject the idea that perceptions can be broken into component parts and gave us perceptual organization principles. These explain how humans organize sensations into perceptions. The most famous illusions come from the brain trying to figure out figure and ground, to carve the visual field into surfaces, to decide what is in front of the other. The first task in perceiving is to pick out features to emphasize in order to detect the figure from the surroundings or ground. What is emphasized is the figure and that which is ignored is the ground. These principles of perception work for all senses. What is an example of figure-ground when it comes to audition or hearing?
Explanation / Answer
figure ground auditary is the ability to uitlize the external medium or internal medium to fill in the gaps between the speeches which include the question backgroun noise , understand conflicts who dont speak clearly , they percieve the noises background, the example for the figure ground audition is amplitude . our sense of hearing is called audition , amplitude is the directly proptinal to the accoustic energy which is produced by the object which we hear in the form of waves these waves determine the sound which we hear . the absolute sound which we hear will be 0 the sound loundness doubles for every 10 decibles increase . gesalt is the german word for the form are shape ,which our ability to hear based on the shape of the object instead of waves . example a musician playing an instrument , our brain has the image that person holding the instrument it is perception , when he plays the instrument we hear the sound or music it is called figure ground perception
