3. The main components of cost of quality are:-
1. Appraisal Costs: the cost of developing the product which includes testing and inspection etc.
2. Prevention Costs: cost in identifying the defects and preventing the defects from causing any functional problem to the product.
3. Internal Failure Costs: cost in any failures that occur due to internal failures, such as, scraps, repair and reworks.
4. External Failure Costs: the cost that is passed on externally like customer goodwill, warranty replacements as well as repair and handling procedures.
4. TQM can be referred to as the philosophy where the direction that is followed represents the satisfaction of the customer in an effort to promote effective changes in the cultural environment to incorporate improvement of the various aspects as well as the processes of the organization.
