The role of leader is of immense importance to working of the organization. Leadership role guides the organization, the people in it, to do what is required in order to achieve the mission of the organization or team.
Team based environment requires that everyone works for the collective good of the team. However there has to be someone who can at times solves the team member problem and conflict and at times motivates them to do better and put more efforts.
The techniques are that the leader of the team listens to the concerns of the team member or try to know their ability and skills and motivate them by making them use their best of ability and skills. He also makes sure that all the team members perform well and work together in harmonious manner.
Coaching is guiding the team members to include certain behavior and choices and change in activity of individual to achieve the desired goal. The coaching includes various techniques employed by the coach to help his team win any desired goal.
Expectancy theory of motivation states that the individual or people behave in certain way if they are motivated by their leader that is they will put extra effort to accomplish what they intend to that is motivation keeps the people to achieve the things by having that desired behavior which is needed for achieving the goal.
Leader exert power and use politics and influence as they derive authority by virtue of their leadership quality and trust and respect from people that is they stand for everyone cause and they understand the concern of the team members and thereby leads the team towards the desired goal.
The strategic leadership is the realization of the vision of the organization through the leadership quality. That is the leader makes the strategy or plans as to how he should take the team to do certain task which will lead or serve the larger perspective of what the organization wants from its employee.He strategize the method as to carrying of work with efficiency and this he does by organizing and leading the team of people who does it.
Vision does play a role in leadership. Right efforts without any direction are worthless. Therefore the organizations have vision or mission statement that acts as the guiding principle for employees and managers to go in certain directions or put efforts in certain direction which will give the best outcome. Leaders use vision to guide the team members to adhere to certain way of doing things which is beneficial for all.
