A: Mobile computing has been very important in the growth of a company or an organisation. It helped the organisation grow, reduce cost, provide better products and service to their customer. Mobile computing allowed people to understand the company and allowed them to understand their products and services.

That being said mobile computing has a few disadvantages, a few of them are mentioned below.

To experience the advantages of mobile computing, the company would have to be connected to the internet. Now normally that is not an issue. But certain parts of the world have issues related to communication. Companies in those areas aren’t able to function normally and would have suffered heavy loss because of this. This also raises costs for a company. To get reliable and get internet or a decent communication network a company would have to incur heavy costs to get it up and running. This usually occurs in countries that are underdeveloped, have civil unrest, war torn regions etc. Companies in these regions would have to incur heavy losses.

Because companies nowadays usually work using the internet etc. this has proved to be vulnerable in certain situations. Because companies relies heavily on mobile computing to send and receive information to their clients and employees a breach in their network would allow third party companies/individuals to access proprietary and private information. This has forced companies to spend time and resources to fortify their networks so to not allow such breach of information to take place.

Because companies nowadays have relied on mobile computing to communicate and sell their products and services, has invariable caused business to increase their power consumptions. Since mobile computing is cheap, business has invested a lot of resources in this avenue. Unfortunately power is not cheap, in order for a company to run a successful business they have to invest in computers, servers etc that consumes a lot of power. This is an unavoidable expense that a company incurs now big or small it is. For a computer to run and accomplish task you need power. In certain parts of the country power is not cheap. Hence this would be an unavoidable cost for a company.
