Restorative Justice is a very good concept of reducing the crimes in the morally strong community. It can be very effective in the cases of relatively small crimes and where the offender has accepted his wrong deeds. This system can be applied to the society where individuals are very close to each other. India used to have this concept in remote villages and it is knowns as panchayat system. Where experienced elder of the village listen to both the parties and the community before passing the verdict with the consent of every one present at the moment.
The philosophy behind this Restorative Justice is the healing of the relationships that have been broken by conflict and crime. Restorative Justice is the method of maintaining a good harmony among the community and its stakeholders even if something wrong happens in the society the same is taken care by the society itself without taking any help from outside.
Process in the restorative justice system should be unified for everyone in the society. The utmost care should be given to the uniformity and achieve the goals such as healing relationship and rehabilitation of the offender. Every party should be heard before passing any judgment or verdict. on the part of precautions, everyone should abide by the verdicts and try to get back to the normalcy in the society.
