Federal government grant- financial assistance from the government  

Local government- management of a town, district or county  

Public-private partnership- cooperation between public and private sectors  

Public servants- people who achieve satisfaction by making contributions to society and the people around them

American Society for Public Administration (ASPA)- one of the biggest serving organizations in public administration  

Five key terms from Chapter 14:

Citizen participation- it is important for citizens to participate in things that take place in the government. Citizens need help shaping their community

E-governance- the governments' usage of technology  

Performance measurement- data that can help make changes to improve a program

Transparency- citizens access to information and their understanding of the decision-making processes  

Globalization- consequences being felt at federal, state and local levels  

The terms above were chosen because they seemed to show the most importance. In both chapters, they stood out the most and had a lot of information to back them up. They were significant to me because they also help to understand Public Administration along with the services that it provides and the future that it may hold.

In Chapter 11, Stillman text, it talks about the public service culture. This is an important element to study for many reasons. As stated in the text, "people have many different competing needs" (Stillman, 2010, p.321).  When thinking of public service, many different things can be thought of. Another thing stated in the Stillman book was that public servant values are more likely to be held by a workgroup or an organization than by an individual.  

By serving in the public interest, this simply means doing what is best for society. This is when people step forward and try to help others. An example of this could be when someone steps forward to join the military because they love their country (Stillman, 2010, p.322). This shows that someone is willing to do what is best for the people around them. When doing these things, it is important to follow rules and remember to get along with co-workers.

Yes, I agree that the selected terms are of utmost importance to public administration. It is because-

Federal Government grants are of huge importance in funding public infrastructure and related projects. It helps in economic growth of the country.

Local Governed plays an important role in local admiration and helps federal and state government to take important actions and decisions as state as a whole.

Public-Private Partnerships describes the cooperation between private and public sector and both work collectively to serve the country. American Society of Public administration draw rules and regulations in the area of public administration. It is the biggest organization serving the purpose of study and work and laid down rules and policies for public administration adopted worldwide.

Citizen participation is very important in making and accepting administrative decisions. Intelligent citizens accept the rues and policies of public administration and act accordingly. E-Governance nowadays plays an important role because of increasing use of technology in administration works. It helps in quick decision making and taking corrective actions through the use of smart technology and media. Performance Measurement is important to access the performances of a program and polices implemented in public administration. It is useful to avoid the loophole of the system and software’s used.

Transparency plays an important role. Citizens must have access to the information and knowledge of the process of administration. It helps in reducing fake cases or wrong claims and give equal important to all the parties involved. Globalization has changes the scenario of public administration. Now, open boundaries and liberal working and social environment makes the public administration task more complex. Now, the consequences are not felt only in one part or state, but across borders.
