I am not so surprised by the statistics given in this article. Actually I somehow agree with the thoughts of Meinert. Actually the main responsibility of the organization is on the managers of that organization. They are the role model for the people working under them. So for any misconduct in the workplace, the managers are responsible for it. Manager is a person with high power. He/she should keep an eye on each and every activity going on under them. So if any misconduct is happening then surely the leader is responsible. There should be a proper channel from the top to bottom level of the organization. If the middle level (manager) will follow the top level then the lower level will follow the middle level. So the ethical should be generated from the top level which will automatically follow from top to bottom. 60% is the manager’s responsibility and the rest is of the top level and each individual itself.

Yes, ethical behavior affects the financial bottom line of the company. An ethical lapse can be so costly that the executives have never been imagined. A company with high ethical behavior tends to maintain high number of stakeholders satisfaction, good market and better goodwill which gives a positive impact on the financial position of the company. Lack of professional as well as personal ethic can negatively affect the financial result of the company. Ethical behavior of the workplace will increase the economic growth of the company.
