Being the federal agency, the department of transportation implements lesser economic regulation and the various policies which are enforced by it can be seen as too much of progressive one with the new economic environment and the various conditions which are prevailing in the United States’ economy. There are a number of safety regulations by carriers which are also framed having some additional security measures for the transportation and due to these, there is a huge reduction in the public risk. There is a strict monitoring of all the carriers which even enters inside the USA and different regulations are adhered strictly as per the existing policies which involve increased inspection in order to reduce the risk of any terrorist act and helping in the performance with the additional training imparted
There are a number of initiatives and improvements in the safety policies as brought by The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. It is quite mandatory to have the strict adherence to the stringent guidelines pertaining to the EPA and this policy also includes the emissions from the carriers for the particulate matter. Despite an increase of associated engines by an amount of $10000 or more, the adherence to the guidelines by the transportation and logistics companies will help in improving the environment and the society at large.
