Question

Does "ethical fading" apply to the situation you described in the post below ? If so, in what way? If not, why not?

With regulations, the whistleblowers come out freely. An example is Sheron Watkins, who gave vital information about corruption practices at Enron (Rachagan & Kuppusamy 2012). Watkins did not face her two managers directly with the accusations because she was sure she would be fired. This fact proves that in most corporations it’s hard to rely on the internal auditing systems since, in most cases, they are linked to the corrupt processes within the organization.

Explanation / Answer

Answer:

Yes this is the example of ethical fading. In this case the one who was sitting at the top of the hierchy was also insulged in corrupt practices and everything that was done in most of her unconsicous state. She knew she was wrong but the system that was made inside the company has not let her realiza that she is following the wrong path.
