Therefore, to avoid conflicts and problems by avoiding close collaboration about the research should generally not be seen as a wise strategy. In fact, if they do not get out of hand, some conflicts may be both useful and productive in research work and may help avoiding “groupthink”18 which could e.g. occur in long-standing research networks.
