I agree with the first one specially on today`s world that everything is done electronically, all the websites you visit not just for fun but the information of your bank, IRS, bills you pay, everything is online, and there are hackers that can steal your identity to commit crimes.

There are thousands of cases where criminals have obtain your personal information and use it on sites like Amazon to purchase products.

You need to be careful where you share your information online.

I do believe they receive more benefits because based on their information marketers promote products that will fulfill the needs of the customers.

The information that marketers used are harmless (most of the time) for example your age, sex, income, type of restaurants you enjoy, quantity of a certain product, etc.

If the marketers asked for personal information like social security number that would be a problem.
