Although American football and Finnish sauna are completely two different activities but there are underlying similarities and differences how they represent the unique cultures and the people. Both activities have a huge impact on group dynamics and function in both culture. Either knowingly or subconsciously people from both cultures have modified their group thinking through these two activities.

American football represents teamwork where success can be only reached through good communication and good synchronization of the team players. Finnish sauna almost does the same thing but in a different way. Sauna is a social bonding place where Finnish people bond psychologically and mentally. Both play a big part in understanding the group thinking and expectations.

Both activities have their differences too. While Finnish sauna is a calm and quite process, American football is a rigorous athletic game. Although American football is a team activity still there is a strong individual influence. A team can lose but a good player can still be appreciated. Individualism is a big part of both American culture and football. While Finish sauna is a way to promote social equality and mental peace.

In a group consisting of both American and Finn members will definitely face challenges because of two different cultures. Finn members might find the American members as too individualistic or high achievers. While the socialistic views of the Finn members might disappoint the Americans. Finnish people a want to thrive as a society while American people emphasize more on individual goals. So the only way to overcome these cultural difficulties would be to focus on the common goal.
