Explanation / Answer
As the demand falls for oil, the team needs to first conduct a deep market study to understand the changing trends and the sustainibility initiatives that the world and consumers are moving to. ADNOC needs to understand the key industry trends, and identify the production cost returns through sales. If the sales and revenue is falling , the company may look at divesting and expanding the business across different verticals.
The people i.e. the staff needs to be made aware of the changes and trends in the markets and the new skill sets need to be explored by the field engineersand staff. The training and change management program needs to be rolled out.
The oil industry is stereotyped with using traditional means of updating and evolving their business. However the stereotype needs to be overcome and the company can adopt a design thinking methodology by co-creating with its customers. Looking for businesses that can be the new and sustainable for future growth.
The agile and design thinking methodology would be highly effective in bringing about a change in this scenario. The creativity block can be brought to power by developing close to real life prototypes and proof of concepts.
