Question

You’re the leader of a team that includes a new employee. He has years of experience working in another hospital and knows more than the rest of the team about operating the new high tech equipment just installed in your department. When you ask him to show his coworkers how to use the new equipment, he refuses by saying, I wasn’t hired to be be a teacher he mostly keeps to himself and doesn’t get along very well with other team members.youre beginning to wonder which is more important hard skills or soft skills?

Explanation / Answer

Hard skills are the skills that which are required to a person to perform any task technically in organizations. Hard skills play a crucial role while completing any task because without the technical knowledge task will not be completed successfully. Soft skills are the skills that which are required to a person to deal any challenge effectively whether it was a personal or professional life.

Employers are mostly looking for the candidates who are good at both soft and hard skills because both are important for the success of their organization. It will be very hard to justify the important of one skill but according to me soft skills are more important because soft skills will help to a person for effective usage of hard skills. During the interviews if the candidates impress the employers with their soft skills like effective communication, critical thinking in any question they asked and coping the stress etc will help the employee to be selected. This will help the candidate to perform better hard skills in their professional carrier.
