Not all ethical behavior lies with the employees, or even the managers. The company as a whole must assert a socially responsible image to truly meet ethical guidelines. Managers should lead by example not only to employees, but also to customers and the company’s community.
How should managers foster ethical behavior though their own actions? What can a company as a whole do to build an ethical reputation? How can being ethical and socially responsible benefit a company as well as its stakeholders?

The entire system of implementation of ethics requires the adoption by the most number of people in order to implement the subject into the system. As a fact, an ethical company is essentially one which has its culture defined as being internally justifiable on the basis of ethical requirements and therefore, we can say that any company which has morally justifiable behavior would have a better standing in the eyes of not just brand loyal consumers but the general market it conducts its business in as well. As far as public image goes, ethics is a considerable value to a company, at the same time, even business to business transaction and interaction would prefer the values of ethics in order to generate the first steps between the communication process of the company. We can say that this provides a valuable input to the company and therefore, the ethical environment or culture provides better standing in for the company especially when considered in regards to its competition and the values that we consider as being important. We can thus say that the stakeholders will be benefited with respect to following the policies and procedures that can be considered as being ethical, especially if the entire organization follows it.
