Coming to the OS, Linux is the best OS that will be quite stable and also provide additional security. You need to have a high Memory in your server, so that it does not get slow.

Application such as Apache, Database are also required to connect to the internet as well as storing data such as inventory, sales and also expenses. Oracle Database can the perfect solution regarding database. As it is quite compatible with Linux.
