Their reasoning was "When we used price as criterion, high flying products often got dinged for having higher than average prices, while budget items got a boost on value. Now superior products- those that are well designed, easiest to use, featurerich, and power packed- get our highest rating.

Quality can be defined as the process of measurement to the product features , utility and its performance against the set parameters or standards. For example: Camera of Sony perform a better capturing of image to the customers. Apple smartphones are having strong features in its offering.

The rating system gives customer better confidence to go with current loopholes or performance gaps . Even , it highlights the key issues related to product delivery, performance and utility. A reduced price might attract new customers as well give existing customers a new thought process in relations to maintaining the cost of uses. So , it helps the customers in making right choice .
