Students will complete a paper and presentation discussing the management of employee motivation, appraisal, empowerment and leadership.the team will submit a paper that demonstrates critical thinking and analytical skills, and incorporates creativity and innovative ideas. Case Details
You can use a restaurant desing or you may create a new organization with the minimal organizational size is 20 employees. Building on the concepts presented in the textbook, create a descriptive narrative using organizational examples to address the following issues:
A. Dysfunctional employee behavior
a. Pinpoint three dysfunctional behaviors the team wants to change.
b. Identify and incorporate a motivational model that will minimize the dysfunctional behaviors.
c. Suggest additional reinforcers or punishment which might influence the frequency of the behaviors.
d. Design a strategy to change behavior by adding additional reinforcers to desirable behavior and eliminating anything which is punishing the desired behavior. Also suggest strategies for eliminating anything which may be reinforcing undesired behavior.
B. Appraisal policy
a. Discuss the appraisal philosophy of the team. Apply the philosophy to both employees and managers.
b. Design a performance feedback system that fairly assesses the work and attitudes of the staff. Include suggestions for minimizing biases, appraisal problems, and attribution.
c. Create an economic incentive program that maximizes motivation in the organization.
C. Leadership
a. Discuss the preferred traits and behaviors of managers that will insure effective leadership.
b. Identify which leadership style will work best in the organization. Provide specific reasons and a detailed narrative to support the leadership style choice.
c. Chapter 7 discussed several types of leadership models. Choose a model for your organization and describe why the model is a “best fit”. Consider the types of employees, the abilities of the managers, and the organizational environment and structure.
D. Empowerment
a. Using the information from Sections A, B, and C, create a cohesive discussion that relates to employee empowerment. Use a total systems approach for the discussion. For example, if the team chose to use autocratic leadership, reflect on the level of empowerment employees will experience.
b. Explain how management will increase employee participation in the organization.

i am making a imaginary organization of car dealership- for this report i would answer the below questions-
A. Dysfunctional employee behavior- It is the behavior exhibit by the employee while working with others.
a. Pinpoint three dysfunctional behaviors the team wants to change.-
in car dealership business of 20 employees,as we know each perso would show different different behavior but sometimes they behave dsyfunctinally with others. these dysfunctional behavior which team wants to cahnge-
b- Identify and incorporate a motivational model that will minimize the dysfunctional behaviors.
as a team leader/manager i would use the negative motivational model which is punishment for the benefits of the team.if the members of the team show behaviour like personal issues, carelessness & lazyness at work or mislaeding etc then they would be treated with punishment in the form of scolding,fines,salary cut, extra work pressure etc.& reward would be given to those employees who work hard & motivate them positively.
c. Suggest additional reinforcers or punishment which might influence the frequency of the behaviors-
if the frequency of the showing dysfunctional behavior is not stopped then following reinforces or punishment can be used to stop that behavior-
d- strategy for desired & undesired behavior-
policy of making promotion, appraisal , awards can be made for the desired behavior in the business.
policy of biasness can affect the desired behavior so, this would be eliminated.
strategy like no smoking, no use of illegal substances at work, prohibition of abuse/abusive action at work etc can eliminate the undesired behavior at work.
B- Appraisal policy- these are the policy which helps the manager to check & measure the performance of the employees.

b- performance feedback system-
the system for feedback can be rating method in which employee or manager can rate the performnace of the employee between 1 to 5 where 1 is excellent & 5 is poor.
also employees can used this method by showing ratings from 1 which is highly bias or appraisal problems & 5 is lower bias or no appraisal problems etc.
c- ECONOMIC INCENTIVE PROGRAM FOR MOTIVATION-
INCENTIVES works like charm for any employee to improve their performance because they get motivated to earn more & more incentives.as my company is car dealership the economic incentive would be-
