Consider that you will be required to install the device at two separate entrances into a building. Next, research ways in which attackers attempt to defeat this particular standard biometric technique. Finally, how often will this technique reject authorized users while accepting unauthorized users compared to other standard biometric techniques? Based on your research, would you recommend this technique? Why or why not? Prepare a brief presentation of your findings to share with the class?

Disadvantages of standard biometrics:

Facial recognition: This biometric technology is cheap because it uses only a camera for authentication, which can be found in smartphones easily thus it is considered a cheap biometric technology.

Cost for camera can be around $100-200

Attackers can defeat this technique by using a photograph of a person having authorized access and using latex face mask of authorized person.

Facial recognition can be affected by changes in lighting, person’s hair, age and if person is wearing something on face like glasses, thus due to these factors it can even reject authorized users. Although there are less chances of fooling facial recognition but it is not as secure as fingerprint, iris recognition and retinal scan.

I would not recommend this technique as it is not much reliable and taking cost factor into consideration there is fingerprint technique which is cheap as compared to facial recognition but has high reliability. So I would suggest to use fingerprint technique.
