Explanation / Answer

According to Day, the professional identity of a teacher is an ongoing continuous process of interpretation of teaching experiences and constantly evolving. The professional identity forms a guide for the teachers in the teaching-learning process. Hence the development of professional identities has become important and exciting in the education field. In a future leadership role, I would support the teachers in developing their professional identities in becoming high performing educators by implementing the industry best practices. First, I focus on accreditations in the education sector and provide training programs to the teachers on the professional standards of education. In the training program, the focus would be more on case studies, teacher development, leadership development, vocal training, technology training, professional learning, professional review and evaluation of teachers at the end of the accreditation training program. The program enhances the teacher interactions with the students, professional skills, abilities, experiences and improves their work environment considerably. Nowadays emphasis is given to leadership development programs for teachers. Teachers must be transformative leaders to transform the students and the society positively in the future. Teaching is transforming with technology domination. Technology plays a crucial role in shaping the professional identity of the teachers. The teachers must be equipped with the latest technologies and appropriate training must be provided to effectively use technology in the classroom for a more interactive teaching-learning process. Teachers must be made aware of the lifelong learning principle and make learning a habit of updating their knowledge on a daily basis. This professional learning ensures that teachers develop their professional identities in an effective manner.
