Different operating systems exists for smart phones. Some argues that Android is secure as it could be more personally customised than iOS, the Apple iPhone operating system. In this question, we are trying to answer, ‘What is the ‘most secure’ smart phone operating system?’ Your task is to critically compare some of the top smartphone’s operating systems such as Android, IOS, etc. Bearing in mind that market share may not say it all. For example, we have some good security features in operating systems such as Ubuntu Touch, Amazon Fire OS, Windows 10 Mobile, and Firefox OS, Tizen that many people do not really know about.

Comparison of security features and issues between

Sailfish OS :It maintains the applications in two level architecture. These levels are based on privileges given to the applications on user data. Third party applications are in second level or lower level where it has less privileges on the user data.

BlackBerry OS : It has boot-loader security and verified booting options. App privileges security and end to end security in communication with cloud platforms. Data encryption techniques and other protected techniques are adapted to secure personal data.

Android OS : File system encryption protection is adapted and to control root malwares system is partitioned and privilege protected. Secure Inter Process Communication is adapted to facilitate the communication between applications and processes. User base model and Process Isolation are adapted. Applications accessing protected API s like camera, Location data, etc., require user permission. Safe mode and sandbox is available. Handles Pre-Installation permissions from user. It considers about Certificate Authority, Personal information, Sensitive data and meta data and designed best to perform. Includes bug handling, reporting security issues, warnings and process types.

Security deals with many features

1. Boot verification - It should has secured boot loading process.

2. Application installation - Third party or unknown applications should be installed with user permission.

3. Application privileges - In this application should ask for accessing API , data and other information or integrated sensors, devices.

4. Safe Mode: In this mode application should open the contents, documents in read mode and other privileges should be withheld.

5. Cyber Security: In this surfing application should concentrate on avoiding cookies and other notifications from the pirated sites and incase of requirement user permission should be attained.

6. Networking Devices. Handlin in wifi , Bluetooth and usb connections should be most secured and the servers should be authenticated securely.
