Raid is defined as the data storage visualization technology which is alligned with multiple disk drive components seggregated into one or more units for data redundancy, performance improvement or even both.

When capacity is considered: the data is scattered across the drives in may be one or many ways called as RAID levels.

Performance and reliability : Each RAID level has a different form or schema to balance and even provides protection against the unrecoverable sectors read errors and failure that might happen of the physical drive.

Availability: It combines with many such physical disk drives for performance improvements and redundancy.
